New Years Eve!

Its New Year's Eve! A new year is almost here! I'm staying at home this year but my nails did not know that. :)

I used one coat of Sinful Colors Sugar Sugar then sponged on China Glaze Tinsel Town. I just got Tinsel Town yesterday on clearance at Sallys. It sponged on surprisingly well for a polish with glitter.

I hope everyone enjoys New Year's Eve!

Color Club Revvvolution

On with the New Year's inspirations! After wearing Color Club Worth the Risque, I decided I needed to try out the other Color Club polish I bought at the same time, CC Revvvolution.

I love Revvvolution much more than I thought I would. I will admit I had no intention of purchasing it at first. However, swatches online from fellow bloggers pushed me toward purchasing. Apparently, this polish and Worth the Risque are harder to come by, so if anyone is searching for them, I bought mine from this seller on Ebay.

Revvvoltion is a dark charcoal holo, basically black depending on the lighting. I'm just in love with it! The application was smooth and one coat was enough. You cannot beat a one coater with an amazing application. Not to mention the colors. I blurred the last two pictures slightly, so you can see the colors. Amazing! Even if you're not a fan of dark or black polishes, consider giving Revvvolution a chance. I'm definitely not a fan of black polishes, especially with my fair skin, but this one is just wonderful.

Color Club Worth the Risque & OPI Rainbow Connection

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend! A new year is on its way, so I am hoping to do New Year's inspired manis until January arrives.

Today I have a sparkly polish combination to show you. Holo and glitter. :)

I promise Color Club Worth the Risque is much more holo in person. It is a linear holo. The application was great and opaque in two coats. And the shine! There is no top coat in the pictures above. The polish itself is that shiny.

OPI Rainbow Connection is a pretty glitter polish packed with a rainbow of colors. It took a little patience to get some of the glitter to evenly distribute on my nail, but a lot of glitter polishes are like that. I used two coats, both thin to get the amount of glitter I wanted.

Santa Christmas Nails

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone who celebrates had a wonderful Christmas! My day as been entertaining. But what day with family isn't entertaining? :) For the holiday, I did a Christmas themed design. I could not decide on just one, so I did three. Each hand looks the same.

Each nail has a different design or polish. On my pinky, I used one coat of Essence Once Upon a Time from their Fairytale Collection. For my index finger, I did part of Santa's suit. A base coat of Wet n Wild Red Red then white stripes with acrylic paint (it goes on more opaque in one stroke) and a black belt in Sinful Colors Black on Black. For the buckle, I used Funky Fingers Golden Coast. On my middle finger, I used two coats of Sinful Colors San Francisco then one coat of the green Hard Candy mini from their Limited Edition Holiday 2011 Collection. For my index finger, I did a Santa hat. I followed a tutorial from CutePolish. I used white acrylic paint and Wet n Wild Red Red. Finally for my thumb, I did a little Santa. I saw this cutie on KK Nails and followed the tutorial from Mini Nail Blog. For Santa, I used Wet n Wild Red Red, Sinful Colors Black on Black, Sinful Colors Snow Me White, and white acrylic paint.

I have used all of these polishes before except for the Hard Candy mini and Wet n Wild Red Red. The HC mini was a little thick, but manageable. Red Red was a dream. Such a pretty red. I cannot wait to use this beauty for a full mani.

Color Club Holiday Splendor & Finger Paints Red Crackle

Its almost Christmas! I will have a cute Christmas nail art mani to show you all tomorrow. :) For today, I have a simple red and green combination.

This is not my first attempt at layering a red crackle over Color Club Holiday Splendor. However, the last one was a bit of a failure. I think this one went somewhat better. I painted all of my nails with one coat of Holiday Splendor. I love how opaque and easy to apply this polish is! Then I layered Finger Paints Red Crackle over the index finger and thumb on my left hand and my pointer and pinky on my right hand. I wish it had showed up more red, but it does look so much better than the last crackle. I already want to layer it over pink for Valentine's Day. Also, it cracks really well. Love it!

Orly Meet Me Under the Mistletoe

Two days until Christmas! I know this polish is from last year's holiday collection, but I just picked it up at Sally's recently. The micro glitter is amazing!

My nails did not magically grow, this polish is from a week ago. :) This is two coats of Meet Me Under the Mistletoe. I was actually surprised that it covered so well. The application was very nice. Please ignore the leftover remnants even after cleanup. Dark polishes never clean up well for me.

Never Stop Being Beautiful

Welcome to my very first guest post! I think women should always feel beautiful, and do what makes them feel beautiful, no matter what. So I'm very happy to share with all of you this post written by Jackie Clark. :)

Never Stop Being Beautiful
By: Jackie Clark

Women strive to be strong, confident people. This does not matter on age or personality; beauty is a common ground for all women. However, sometimes life may throw us a curveball and force us to adjust our entire lifestyle. Unfortunately, many people suffer from life-threatening illnesses that have large effects on them emotionally.

One cancer in particular no woman wants to hear she has been diagnosed with is mesothelioma, an extremely rare cancer. The survival rate for mesothelioma is only between 7-12 months after a person is diagnosed. Difficult times do not and should not affect beauty. Despite the situation or illness there are many ways a woman can remain confident without sacrificing her beauty.

A simple way to help increase a woman’s attitude and beauty is through fashion. Fashion can include clothing, hairstyle, nail care, and accessories. Even if a woman does not feel great on the inside due to the diagnosis or illness, purchasing clothes that flatter the body will make her feel amazing. Women should not be afraid to wear clothing that reflects their personality either. Not only does clothing help increase a woman’s self-confidence, but it is a fun process searching for and choosing the perfect clothing.

Another way in which women can stay beautiful during hard times is by getting regular manicures and pedicures. This procedure may seem simple, but it can have a huge impact. Painting your nails and toenails can be a lot of fun, and it is a unique experience. There are hundreds of nail colors, styles, and patterns that a woman can choose. No need to stick with traditional colors, this is a time for a woman to pick a wild color that ultimately makes her happy.

Searching for new clothes is a great bonding experience between sisters, mothers, aunts, and grandmas. No matter that age, all women want to feel beautiful and spend quality time with all of their loved ones. Painting your nails is no different. This is a wonderful way for women to get together with their girlfriends and other women in their family. Getting manicures and pedicures is a pampering experience that will bring women a lot closer to one another.

The Nail Polish Tag

I was tagged by the lovely Meredith from Polish and Charms for The Nail Polish Tag.

Here are the rules
1. Answer 10 questions
2. Pass this tag to 5 bloggers
3. Make sure that the bloggers you tagged know about this.

Here are the questions:
1. How many polishes do you have?
Including top coats, base coats, etc, plus my backups and extras, I have roughly 360. If I took all of those out, the number would probably be around 320.
2. What is your favorite brand of nail polish?
I don't really have a favorite, but I don't have a single bad thing to say about Color Club. The polishes are amazing!
3. Do you like crackle nail polish, or do you hate it?
I like it. I did not like it when it first came out though. I do, however, dislike the jelly type crackles.
4. What is your first nail polish brand?
I cannot remember, but I imagine it was probably Maybelline or Sally Hansen.
5. If you're going to have a nail polish line, what are you gonna name it?
Wow... no clue. Probably something like Southern Belle.
6. What nail polish color does not compliment you?
Black and some dark dark colors, I'm to pale.
7. What color does compliment you?
Pinks and purples
8. Name two of your best nail art friends.
I can't pick just two! (keeping Meredith's answer)
9. What was the best nail polish gift you have ever received?
My Secret Santa gift
10. Make a speech about thanking the blogger who tagged you.
I absolutely love Meredith's blog! She is super sweet!

Now for the tagging!

Cookies & Cream

Hello everyone! Sorry I've been away from my blog for the past few days. December is a hectic holiday month and I've gotten myself swept up in the craziness.

Today I have a simple cute mani to show you all, inspired by my favorite candy bar. This weeks Monday Nail Art Challenge on PAA is Candy Coma. The holiday season usually comes with tons of candy. I already did a candy cane design this month, so I wanted to do something different. Cookies & Cream candy bars came to mind.

I used two coats of Essie Bone Chilling. Its the perfect off white for white chocolate. The application was good, above average for a white polish. For the cookie chunks, I wanted small and large black glitter. Love & Beauty Black Knight has both, but the small glitter is too dense. So I lightly brushed on Black Knight to get the amount of small glitter I wanted. Then I layered one coat of Wet n Wild Tangled in my Web on top.

I did this manicure yesterday and used Seche Rebuild for the first time. My nails have been peeling and breaking more than normal. My work is hard on my nails; it dries them out. So does the winter weather. I've seen rave reviews about Rebuild so I decided to give it a try. I will let you all know how it goes in case anyone is thinking of trying it out.

Snowflakes!

'Tis the season for snowflakes! Not here in Louisiana, but certainly on my nails.

I started off with two coats of Ulta Mint Condition. The application was good and it went on very smooth. Please excuse the little imperfections. I did this mani Monday and that night was crazy.

Next I layered Body Luxury Cream Shimmer over top. I wanted some subtle shimmer with my background. I got this polish in a set. All of them are nice. Not the best, but nice for layering. I found them at Burlington in a set of six for five dollars.

Finally I stamped on snowflakes with the BM14 plate using Love My Nails Angel. The effect is very subtle, though more noticeable in person. I really liked wearing these snowflakes.

There is a little wear and tear on this polish already in the pictures. As I mentioned before Monday was crazy. Before adding the snowflakes, I had to go move boxes, so my damp polish got pushed slightly away from the tips.

My Secret Santa Gift

This year for Christmas, several members on Polish-aholics Anonymous took part in a Secret Santa gift exchange organized by the groups Admin, Krissi. She went above and beyond organizing it! I sent an international package to Kerrie in the UK (she's already gotten it, yay). Closer to the beginning of December, I received my Secret Santa gift all the way from Romania from Theodora. I was so excited! I love getting stuff in the mail anyway, but receiving a Christmas gift with surprises inside from Romania got me super excited. I was literally bouncing! :)

Everything except for the candy was wrapped up. Which I love. I got to concentrate on opening each thing.

Here is everything completely unwrapped. I got Nivea pomegranate lip balm, some yummy looking candies, Tenet Nail Decorations, a face mask, a beautiful bracelet that she made herself (I love love love it), and of course polishes.

From left to right: Essence Magic Wand!, Flormar U07, U18, U25, and an Alix Avien (they don't have names). I absolutely love Essence polishes and was beyond thrilled to receive a magnetic one. Before this, I did not own any. I had never heard of Flormar or Alix Avien, but they are gorgeous.

Last but not least, I took some up close bottle shots today, so you can get a better idea of what each polish looks like.
