Do you ever attempt a nail design only to end up with a mess? Its a very sad and frustrating occurrence. But sometimes that mess has redeeming qualities. My manicure started off well last night. But it quickly went downhill. My thumb was a disaster and my index finger was just as bad. I was beginning to grow fond of the light blue I already had on, so I decided to keep it and add something extra.
Kind of abstract, but it reminds me of waves crashing against rocks. How the water remains deep blue while the upward spray is very light almost white. Maybe its just me.
I sponged on two different blues for this effect. Cosmetic Arts Sky High and Sinful Colors Midnight Blue. So, what do you think. Crashing waves, something else, or just completely abstract?
Cosmetic Arts retails for $2 at Ross. Sinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens (online/in store) and Target (in store). They're also available for $2.50 at Cherry Culture.
Looks Amazing, cant wait to try this one out:)

DeleteThese look amazing!!!! Definitely reminds me of crashing waves, great job!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees crashing waves.
DeleteActually I totally love this! I really love the abstract quality but how it does bring the idea of crashing waves. Your technique is gorgeous! What kind of sponge did you use?
ReplyDeleteThank you! That's exactly why I ended up loving it. Its completely abstract yet reminds me of crashing waves at the same time.
DeleteI used a basic makeup wedge sponge. I tore off pieces big enough to fit my nail and comfortably hold between fingers.
