Rainbow Favorites Day 7 - Pink

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday! Today is the last day of the rainbow challenge. And today's color happens to be my favorite polish color. So picking just one pink polish was hard. I couldn't pick just one, so I chose three.

China Glaze Sangria, Claire's Candy Shop, and Love My Nails Palest Mauve. Sangria is a hot pink shimmer. Nothing especially unique, but oh so pretty. Candy Shop is a pink jelly packed with multicolored and multi-shaped hex glitter. I promise it lays and appears much more flat than in the photo. For some reason, the glitter looks bumpy here. But if you look at my previous post with this polish, it looks perfectly smooth. Palest Mauve is a pale mauve pink creme, just as the name implies. Its a tad more mauve in reality and has been a favorite pink of mine for a long time. I even went as far as to grab a back up bottle of it. The application on all of these polishes is great. They all require two coats for opacity, though I added a third of Candy Shop for more glitter.

Claire's retails for $5 in store. China Glaze retails for $5-8 a bottle at Sally Beauty Supply, Ulta, and various other stores/sites. Love My Nails retail for $1 at Bari Cosmetics.

Doing this challenge has been so much fun. I hope everyone has enjoyed seeing my favorite colors. I know I have enjoyed seeing what other bloggers chose.

Rainbow Favorites Day 5 - Blue

I hope you're enjoying your Thursday! Today's post for the rainbow challenge is blue. My absolute favorite blue is the combo of Essence Belle and Edward. But I've posted those polishes twice, so I decided to give other blues a chance. I narrowed it down to three. Zoya Charla, Bootie Babe Hella Baloo, and Sally Hansen Pacific Blue. Still couldn't pick just one, so I chose two.

I picked Bootie Babe Hella Baloo and Zoya Charla as my favorites. Hella Baloo is a medium blue creme. The application is great and opaque in one coat. Nothing better than a one coat polish. Zoya Charla a dark aqua with teal green glass flecks. The application is great and opaque in two coats.

Choosing favorites has been hard. And I can tell you that if you asked me my favorites a month from now, they would probably be different.

Hella Baloo retails for $4 (for 9mL) and $12 (for 30mL) on Bootie Babe. According to their Facebook page, the 1oz/30mL bottles are pre-order and will be available in September. Charla (Sunshine Collection) retails for $8 at Zoya.

Retro Stars Rainbow Gradient

Its Stamping Sunday over at Adventures In Stamping on Facebook. This week is Stars. And tomorrow's Nail Art Challenge at Polish-aholics Anonymous is Gradient/Ombre. I had this vision of a rainbow gradient with black stars. My nails are not exactly what I imagined, but the design is growing on me.

It reminds me of a vintage tee where the edges of the images fade and become worn. I don't think this plate image was etched deep enough. I could not pick up the image in the same spots over and over.

Its a lot of color! I used Essie Bone Chilling, Zoya Pippa, Dahlia Orange, Love My Nails New Love, Color Club Poptastic, Julep Anne, Zoya Phoebe, and Sinful Colors Irish Green. I started with a coat of Bone Chilling then sponged on each of the other colors. Next I stamped the stars on using the BM21 plate and Sinful Colors Black on Black.

I really like how colorful this is!

Untrieds Day 11 - Cosmetic Arts Covered in Diamonds

I've been excited to try my first Cosmetic Arts polish. Since I still had my Rainbow Nails on, I figured there was no better day than today. I could see what the polish looked like over ten different polishes. :)

I bought this polish at Ross and their bottles rarely have labels. So finding the names is always an adventure. The name for this polish was no where to be found online. So since its an exact dupe for Color Club Covered in Diamonds, I decided that's what it'll be called. Its basically the same polish in two different bottles. Forsythe Cosmetic Group makes Color Club, Cosmetic Arts, Funky Fingers, and a couple others. So you'll see a lot of dupes among the different brands. I own a few myself, and from swatching, I can say that they tend to be identical. So if you don't like owning dupes, be careful when purchasing any of these brands to make sure you don't own that color under another name.

This is one coat of Covered in Diamonds over my rainbow colors (Essie Bone Chilling, NYC Taxi Yellow, Sally Girl Amped, Wet n Wild Red Tape, Lavender Creme, Love My Nails Frosted Purple, Sally Hansen Pacific Blue, Wet n Wild SaGreena the Teenage Witch, Julep Olivia, and Beauty UK Gun Metal).

The application wasn't bad. Its a little thick and some pieces do not want to lay flat. Though I think how beautiful this polish is more than makes up for it. As you can see, it looks better over darker colors. By that, I mean anything darker than a pastel. It doesn't do much for the white or yellow. Though I would love to layer with the white again closer to Christmas. Reminds me of snow in a way. My favorite combo is it on top of Love My Nails Frosted Purple. I also have to add that I can see myself wearing an entire brown mani with this on top and I do not like brown nail polish.

If you love flakies, you need this gorgeous polish in your life.

Untrieds Day 9 & 10 - Rainbow Nails

I've been sick lately, so much so that I haven't been to work most of this week. So I missed painting my nails yesterday. But I more than made up for it today. :) I painted all of my fingers a different color. Ten untried polishes!

These aren't exactly a rainbow, but it is a rainbow of colors. I used to work at a fabric store and this is how we organized the colors from light to dark. White, yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, blue, green, brown, silver/black.

From left to right, I used: Essie Bone Chilling, NYC Taxi Yellow, Sally Girl Amped, Wet n Wild Red Tape, Lavender Creme, Love My Nails Frosted Purple, Sally Hansen Pacific Blue, Wet n Wild SaGreena the Teenage Witch, Julep Olivia, and Beauty UK Gun Metal.

I think its a fun mani to do. And certainly eye catching considering the wide array of colors.
