Creatively Using Crackle

I hope you are enjoying your Thursday! Today I have a manicure to show you that happened as a sort of accident.

I wanted to prolong my time between polish changes, so I decided to add a pretty crackle over my existing polish, Cosmetic Arts In Bloom. So I dug out Funky Fingers Teal Scales. However, it did not crack on the first finger. So I scratched at it. Odd thing to do, but it gave an interesting effect. Not exactly cracks, but more like odd shaped holes. Kind of reminds me of bleach splattered jeans.

Funky Fingers Power Chord

I hope you are enjoying your Wednesday! I know its been a couple of days since I posted. I just couldn't get into nail polish when my finger was all bandaged up. I knew it would only take a little while to heal, so I decided to wait to paint my nails until I could paint all of them.

Funky Fingers Power Chord is a very dusty purple metallic. How fun is purple metallic? The application is perfection and opaque in two coats. The metallic finish reflects both purple and gold. It has great dimension.

Funky Fingers retail for $2 or 3/$5 at Five Below.

Everything Blue

I hope you are enjoying your Sunday! Today, I have a layering combination to show you with nothing but blue polishes.

I am really enjoying wearing this combo! I started off with two coats of Ulta Mint Condition. Next, I did a layer of Finger Paints Motley. You can see some of the flakies peeking out behind the crackle. Finally, I did a coat of Funky Fingers Teal Scales. It is a gorgeous crackle with tons of shimmer. The application on all of these is wonderful.

Ulta Nail Lacquer retails for $6 at Ulta. Motley is part of the Finger Paints Special Effects Collection and retails for $5 exclusive at Sally Beauty Supply. Most stores are sold out (given it is Limited Edition)  though some sites online will have them. Funky Fingers Crackle retails for $4 at Five Below.

Radioactive

I hope everyone is enjoying their Thursday! I have what I consider an interesting layering combination to show you today.

Radioactive nails! Or at least I see them as radioactive. My mom commented that they looked mossy and spring like. I did a bit of layering to get this effect.

I started off with one coat of Wet n Wild Nocturnal, next a coat of Funky Fingers Stage Dive, and finally two coats of Nfu-Oh NFU JS18. Nocturnal is an almost black blue jelly. It applied opaque in just one coat. Stage Dive is great glitter with different sizes of silver hex glitter. NFU JS18 is a sheer jelly with amazing application. I have never worn it alone, so I'm not quite sure how many coats it takes for opacity.

Nocturnal is part of Wet n Wild's Craze line, which has been discontinued. As with any discontinued line or collection, there was usually bottles to be found online. If you're lucky, you might be able to purchase them in a set from a store that still has some in stock. I got mine in a set of six for four dollars at Dollar General during Christmas time. Funky Fingers retail for $2 or 3/$5 at Five Below. Stage Dive is part of their Heavy Metal Collection, so I'm honestly unsure if its still available in store since there are no Five Below stores located near me (if anyone knows, please let me know so I have accurate info here). Nfu-Oh retail for $12.50 from Fabulous Street, the distributor for that brand in the USA.
