Zoya Marina & Stamping

I hope you are enjoying your Monday!

Zoya Marina is a strongly blue toned gray metallic. The application is good and opaque in two coats. Over Marina, I stamped on this lovely pattern with Color Club Gingerbread Man and stamping plate BM-209.

I literally forgot to add that I matted an accent finger to see how the two metallics would look matte. Every finger aside from my ring is topped with Seche Vite, while the ring is topped with Butter London Matte Finish.

Christmas Tree

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday! Its been a little over a week since I last posted, and I apologize for that. The holiday season has me stressed out. Getting ready for the holiday itself, plus work. I work in retail and I am sure you have seen how the stores are this time of year. I have never little time left. So I am cramming a post in before I go to bed tonight.

You have probably seen this type of design floating around the web lately. It has been very popular this season. I used one coat of Milani Signature Gold as my base. I love this gold, and keep picking it up as the gold in my holiday designs. For the tree, I taped off my nail leaving a triangle. Then I placed striping tape, making sure to lap it over the tape. I painted on a layer of Color Club Holiday Splendor before carefully peeling the tape off. Finally, I topped my tree with a silver star glitter.

The design is very easy to create. I need to work with striping tape more.

Glitter Sprinkled Gold

I hope you are enjoying your Sunday!

Milani Signature Gold topped with Snowman Red Glitter. Signature Gold is a metallic copper gold. Perfect and opaque in one coat. Red Glitter is a clear base filled with red micro glitter. The bottle is shaped like a snowman and they are exclusively sold at Rite-aid this time of year.

Zoya FeiFei and Snowflakes

I hope you are enjoying your Thursday! Today I have a fun winter-y design to share with you. The weather here is warm and not December like at all. But then again, it is Louisiana. Our weather has a mind of its own. I cannot change the weather to be more like winter, but I can make my nails more winter like.

Zoya FeiFei is described as a "medium steel blue base with heavy gold, blue and pink iridescent metallic sparkle." Zoya hit the nail on the head with that description. FeiFei is unlike any polish I own. Its gorgeous! My camera had a hard time capturing all the amazing in one shot. The application is perfection and opaque in three coats.

For my winter manicure, I decided to stamp snowflakes over FeiFei. I used Pure Ice Super Star! along with stamping plates BM14, BM-319, and BM-323. I love the snowflakes over top this polish!

Essence A Piece of Forever

I hope you are enjoying your Tuesday! These pictures have been sitting in my folder for nearly a month. Not sure why I have not posted them before, but here they are now. :)

Essence A Piece of Forever is a metallic gold frost. Ignore the bubbles, its just top coat plus fan. The application was okay. Basically what you would expect from a frost finish polish. I've used three of the four from this collection so far, and none of the applications are up to par with the rest of the Essence polishes I own. Its odd. But it does not stop them from being pretty.

The Essence Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 2 Collection is limited edition. There is a variety of makeup, including four polishes. I purchased all four at $1.99 each.

Happy Thanksgiving with Milani Signature Gold

I hope you are enjoying your Thursday! And Thanksgiving, if you celebrate the holiday. I've had a nice and slightly hectic day. It involved cooking, painting nails, and family. This morning in between cooking dishes, I took off my leopard mani and debated over what to put on next. I wanted something appropriate for the holiday today, but also nice for tomorrow. I finally decided on gold. Perfect for Fall, Thanksgiving, and for Black Friday. I will not be shopping tomorrow, but rather working. I got the opening shift, so I will be at work before midnight. Wish me luck!

Milani Signature Gold is a metallic copper gold. The formula is perfection with an easy application. Opaque in one coat, but I used two for good measure.

Autumn Leopard

I hope you are enjoying your Wednesday! Thanksgiving is almost here! For those who celebrate, I hope you have a wonderful day. Hopefully it will involve the people that you love and yummy food.

Today I have a fun nail art design to share with you. Leopard print!

I have honestly never been a big fan of leopard print. But I kept seeing so many pretty nail designs involving the print, so I finally decided to give it a try. This design could not have been easier to create. So simple! I'm still on the fence as to whether I love it yet or not, but it is growing on me.

Since we are well into Autumn, I decided to use colors fitting the season. Essie Head Mistress, Finger Paints Figure of Art, and Love My Nails Black Rage. I'm rather found of the colors; I just wish red didn't turn my skin pink during cleanup.

Head Mistress is part of the Essie Stylenomics Collection and retails for $8. Finger Paints retail for $5.29 at Sally Beauty Supply. Love My Nails retails for $1 at Bari Cosmetics.

China Glaze Harvest Moon

I hope you are enjoying your Wednesday! I have a very pretty polish to show that just shouts Autumn at the top of its lungs.

China Glaze Harvest Moon is a copper metallic. The application is perfection and opaque in two coats. I absolutely love this shade for Fall.

Butter London Bluey

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday! Mine has been a bit hectic. I work retail and it was pouring down rain. I think you can see why it was hectic. Saturday, retail, and rain. Yesterday I showed you my first Butter  London polish. Today, you will see my second. I was so in love with the polishes when I got them in the mail. Once I wore one, I had to wear the rest. I actually have the third one on as I type, and will show it to you tomorrow.

Butter London Bluey is a peacock blue metallic with blue and green flecks. Mostly blue with a hint of green. The application is great and opaque in two coats. In person, it is completely opaque. For pictures, I would recommend three coats.

Butter London retails for $14 and is available at several locations, all of which are listed on their website.

Butter London Wallis

I hope you are enjoying your Friday! Today I finally have a swatch of my first Butter London polish to show you. The first time I wore it, the pictures came out blurry.

Butter London Wallis is a metallic olive green with green and gold flecks. Whoever describes the polishes for their website hit the nail right on the head. "A tarnished, metallic olive gold nail lacquer, as mysterious and regal as its namesake." The application is great and goes on very smooth even with the depth of flecks you see. It is opaque with two coats.

I honestly never thought I would go anywhere near this polish. It was incredibly popular last year around this time and I could not figure out the appeal. I recently ordered three plus the matte top coat with the deal Coterie ran a couple of weeks ago. I figured Wallis was worth a try. I have been trying to branch out polish wise. You never know if you will love a polish or not until you try it on. :)

Butter London retails for $14 and is available at several locations, all of which are listed on their website.

Funky Fingers Power Chord

I hope you are enjoying your Wednesday! I know its been a couple of days since I posted. I just couldn't get into nail polish when my finger was all bandaged up. I knew it would only take a little while to heal, so I decided to wait to paint my nails until I could paint all of them.

Funky Fingers Power Chord is a very dusty purple metallic. How fun is purple metallic? The application is perfection and opaque in two coats. The metallic finish reflects both purple and gold. It has great dimension.

Funky Fingers retail for $2 or 3/$5 at Five Below.

Sapphire

Its Stamping Sunday! I'm late on getting my post up, but its still Sunday here. This week's theme is precious stones.

Say hello to rightie! This is the only non blurry picture I could take of my right hand. My left hand would make an odd swatch photo. I hurt my middle finger, so there would be a giant bandage in the middle of the picture.

I chose sapphire as my precious stone and did a similar polish color plus stamping. For my ring finger, I did two coats of Wet n Wild Silvivor then stamped on sapphires using Sinful Colors Midnight Blue and plate BM09. For the rest of my fingers, I used two coats of Midnight Blue.

Wet n Wild retail for $1-2 at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Ulta, and many other stores, all of which are listed on their websiteBM stamping plates are part of a 21 piece set that retails for $18 on Bundle Monster or their Amazon store. Sinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens (online/in store) and Target (in store). They're also available for $2.50 at Cherry Culture.

Zoya Kimmy

I hope you're enjoying your Saturday! Today I have a pretty polish to show you today. I actually got a shot of it in the Sun. It looks like its been set on fire in the sunlight.

Zoya describes Kimmy as a "gleaming metallic candy apple red brightened by gold sparkle." I honestly would not describe this a candy red. More like red orange. But it certainly is a metallic. A gorgeous metallic. The application is great and opaque in two coats.

Kimmy (Sunshine Collection) retails for $8 at Zoya

Pink with a Metallic Accent

I hope you are enjoying your Tuesday! I have another manicure to show you for Monkey See, Monkey Do. Its a nail challenge where we take inspiration from or recreate a mani done by someone else. Anything you see on blogs, Facebook, Pinterest, or anywhere else online.

This was inspired by an image on Pinterest. I could not find who did this pairing to give them proper credit. I just love the pink and silver. For my pink, I did three thin coats of No6 Bright Young Thing, a medium pink creme. For my silver accent, I used two coats of Wet n Wild Silvivor, a bright silver metallic. It almost has a foil finish to it, but leans a little more toward metallic. Both of these polishes have great application.

No6 retail for $3 at Payless (though I'm not sure how many still carry the brand). Wet n Wild retail for $1-2 at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Ulta, and many other stores, all of which are listed on their website.

Girly Girl Nail Art Challenge Day 7 - Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice

I hope you are enjoying your Tuesday! I have another design for the Girly Girl Nail Challenge for you today. This challenge lasts a month and includes eight different days of nail art. Instead of trying to keep up with a new nail design each day, we have two each week. Day Seven is Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice: That's what little girls are made of! Show off your sweet (or spicy) inspired nails.

I took the theme a bit literal. Sugar on my index finger with Bon Bons 1060 and Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter, both two coats. Spice on my middle finger with two coats of Julep Demi. Everything Nice on my ring finger with Finger Paints Easel Come, Easel Go and Ulta Glitter Top Coat, both two coats. On my pinky, I combined Sugar and Spice with 1060 and Demi. Every girl is a combination of them after all. :)

Ulta Nail Lacquer retails for $6 at Ulta. Bon Bons retail for $1 at Walmart and Bari CosmeticsSinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens (online/in store) and Target (in store). They're also available for $2.50 at Cherry Culture. Julep retails for $14 at Julep. Finger Paints retail for $5 at Sally Beauty Supply.
