Orly Buried Alive

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday! Today, I have the last of my polishes from the Orly Dark Shadows Collection to show you. I bought three out of the four.

Orly Buried Alive is a deep bronze creme with bronze shimmer. It is opaque in two coats. The application is practically perfect. No issues whatsoever. I highly recommend this polish, even if you are not too fond of brown. I only recently discovered that I like brown polish. Plus, this is more bronze than brown.

Orly Mysterious Curse

I hope you're enjoying your Thursday! Today, I have one of the new polishes from the Orly Dark Shadows Collection to show you. I bought three out of the four. Yesterday, I did a post for Decades of Dysfunction.

Orly Mysterious Curse is a deep plum purple with blue shimmer. It is opaque in two coats, don't let the streaky first coat discourage you.

Orly Decades of Dysfunction

I hope you're enjoying your Wednesday! Today, I have one of the new polishes from the Orly Dark Shadows Collection to show you. I bought three out of the four. They are all gorgeous!

Orly Decades of Dysfunction is a light pink-toned off-white creme. Someone mentioned that it reminded her of Barnabas's vampire skin. I absolutely agree. It is a gorgeous neutral. The application was perfection in two coats.

Orly Androgynie with Stars

I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday! Today, I'm combining Stamping Sunday over on Adventures In Stamping and the Monday Nail Art Challenge on Polish-aholics Anonymous. The themes were "A Plate Ending in 4" and "Sun/Moon/Stars" respectively.

I wish so much that Orly Androgynie could be as pretty on the nail as it is in the bottle. The glitter sinks to the bottom or gets stuck on the sides. Its rather disappointing. I heard that if you turn the bottle upside down, you get more glitters on the brush. I tried that for a few hours before using it. More glitter did make it to the brush for the first layer on my thumb, but sunk right back to the bottom. I'm going to experiment and swatch again in the near future. With all that being said, the application was good. It was opaque in two coats.

Using Konad Special Polish Yellow and plate BM14, I stamped yellow stars on each of my nails. I had a little trouble getting the whole image every time. But I'm by no means a stamping pro, so I'm hoping its just that I need more practice.

Orly Meet Me Under the Mistletoe

Two days until Christmas! I know this polish is from last year's holiday collection, but I just picked it up at Sally's recently. The micro glitter is amazing!

My nails did not magically grow, this polish is from a week ago. :) This is two coats of Meet Me Under the Mistletoe. I was actually surprised that it covered so well. The application was very nice. Please ignore the leftover remnants even after cleanup. Dark polishes never clean up well for me.

Blue Monday, Breast Cancer Pink, & Black Crackle

I've got a lot to talk about tonight. First off, this week's theme for Monday on PAA was Blue. Any design as long as all the polishes were blue. I decided to do a french manicure, replacing the white with medium blue and the pink with a shimmering light blue. It did not turn out as I wanted however. My index tip is too flat and goes down too far. I'll be painting my fingers something different tomorrow.

I used one coat of Pure Ice Splash first so my pink alternative would be a bit more opaque.

Then I free handed the tips with Wet n Wild Saved by the Blue. Next time (if I do this again) I will use my little guides. I'm usually not this bad at free handing.

Finally another coat of Splash. I used my new top coat Orly Sec N Dry on top. It really did dry it super fast.

I also painted my toes today. I finally took teal off my toes; they were teal for all of September as part of Teal Toes to raise awareness for Ovarian Cancer. Continuing with that theme, I decided to paint my toes pink for October since its Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I'm not going to torture you with a picture of my toes, so I did a swatch on my nail wheel of what I did.

Neither is quite color accurate. Its baby pink with glitter. I used a Bon Bons in light pink then Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter on top. Its very cute.

Last but not least, I finally received my order from Fabulous Nails. I ordered a bottle of their crackle a month ago and got it free from Savemore.com. They give you $10 toward a purchase when you sign up. Normally the polish is $15, but they had it for $7. 

I've never owned a crackle before. Its a nice effect, but just not my thing on a regular basis. However, I really wanted some for Halloween. When I received this package in the mail, I immediately swatched it on my nail wheel. It has a great application, consistency, and cracked perfectly.

Its Fabulous Nails Midnight Black Crackle. The bottom left of the nail is where the polish was thinnest and the rest was thick. So the thicker you paint, the wider the cracks are. I personally would not pay $15, but it is an amazing formula.
