Kleancolor Shooting Star

I hope you are enjoying your Sunday! Today I have a glitter packed manicure to show you.

I layered Kleancolor Shooting Star over two coats of OPI Lincoln Park After Dark. Its a slightly orange tinted base packed with small silver hex glitter along with gold, turquoise, and red medium hex glitter. Its gorgeous over a dark base. I would love to layer it over a bright color next time.

Kleancolor retails for $3.50 on their website

China Glaze Fast Track

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday!

China Glaze Fast Track is a light taupe filled with gold shimmer flecks. The application is great and goes on perfectly opaque in two coats. It reminds me of Essence Irreplaceable, although Irreplaceable is a few shades lighter. Actually the similarities are the reason I bought this particular polish. Its the perfect blend of neutral and fun.

Fast Track is part of the China Glaze Capitol Colours Collection. Its currently on clearance in most stores. It retails for $3-6 at various stores and websites (including Sally's Beauty Supply, Ulta, Head2Toe Beauty, and Amazon).

Sparkling Tips

I hope you are enjoying you're Friday! I seem to be solving all my polish related wear issues with glitter lately. I didn't have time to change my nails after wearing Zoya Skylar, so I did a glitter gradient to the tips. It freshened up the look and hid any tip wear. I wish I had decent pictures of right after it was done. I made the mistake of taking them in the kitchen. The lighting made my skin appear yellow and threw off polish color accuracy. I did not notice this until I had already taken my nails through a hard day. So the tip wear is very noticeable.

Despite the wear, I wanted to post them. It was such a sparkly combination. I literally got distracted by my own nails reflection in my laptop screen as I hit a key trying to wake it up from hibernation.

Over Zoya Skylar, I did a quick glitter gradient with Color Club Beyond the Mistletoe. It is a clear base with light green and holo glitter. The light green complimented the steel blue Skylar rather well in person.

Skylar is part of the Zoya True Collection and retails for $8 on their website. Beyond the Mistletoe is part of the Color Club Beyond the Mistletoe Collection. It retails for $4-8. I purchased mine in a collection set of all six for $8 at Ross.

Zoya Skylar

I hope everyone is enjoying their Tuesday! Sorry that I have been a little scattered in my posting as of late. I have been so busy with things and a little stressed as well. My polishes have been neglected. But I promise to get back to my regular posting schedule soon. :)

Zoya Skylar is a slightly dusty medium steel blue with silver and gold shimmer. The gold is only visible at certain angles. But adds a gorgeous something to this already gorgeous polish. The application is great and opaque in two coats.

Skylar is part of the Zoya True Collection and retails for $8 on their website.

Bright Gradient

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday! Today, I have a bright fun combination to show you. I wanted some cheer me up nails, so I decided to do a bright color and holo glitter.

I started with Color Club Limelight, a bright green creme, as my base. The application is great. All the brightness of a neon without needing to layer it over white. It was opaque in two coats. Once it was mostly dry, I sponged Color Club Golden Coast on the tips. I love Golden Coast. Its a clear base with with small gold and holo glitter.

I purchased a small bottle of Seche Vite to see how it compares to my Poshe top coat. I wore this manicure for truck day at work. We are talking eight hours of unloading boxes, opening boxes, stocking shelves, and whatnot. It takes a toll on my nail polish. Yesterday I only had two tiny chips. Normally I would have major tip wear and chips. I'm going to test it with another polish later and see if it was a fluke.

Fingers retail for $2 or 3/$5 at Five Below. Cosmetic Arts retail for $2 at Ross (I'm unsure where else they are sold, if anywhere else).

China Glaze Snow Globe

I hope you are enjoying your Thursday! I had little time to do this manicure. So instead of starting from scratch, I added glitter. Glitter makes everything better.

China Glaze Snow Globe is a clear base filled with iridescent glitter. It has the same appearance as flakies. Glitter, but lies very flat to the nail. Absolutely gorgeous! I want to layer this over everything. Here I have it over Funky Fingers Power Chord.

Snow Globe is part of the China Glaze Let It Snow Collection and retails for $3-6 various places online.

Funky Fingers Power Chord

I hope you are enjoying your Wednesday! I know its been a couple of days since I posted. I just couldn't get into nail polish when my finger was all bandaged up. I knew it would only take a little while to heal, so I decided to wait to paint my nails until I could paint all of them.

Funky Fingers Power Chord is a very dusty purple metallic. How fun is purple metallic? The application is perfection and opaque in two coats. The metallic finish reflects both purple and gold. It has great dimension.

Funky Fingers retail for $2 or 3/$5 at Five Below.

Sapphire

Its Stamping Sunday! I'm late on getting my post up, but its still Sunday here. This week's theme is precious stones.

Say hello to rightie! This is the only non blurry picture I could take of my right hand. My left hand would make an odd swatch photo. I hurt my middle finger, so there would be a giant bandage in the middle of the picture.

I chose sapphire as my precious stone and did a similar polish color plus stamping. For my ring finger, I did two coats of Wet n Wild Silvivor then stamped on sapphires using Sinful Colors Midnight Blue and plate BM09. For the rest of my fingers, I used two coats of Midnight Blue.

Wet n Wild retail for $1-2 at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Ulta, and many other stores, all of which are listed on their websiteBM stamping plates are part of a 21 piece set that retails for $18 on Bundle Monster or their Amazon store. Sinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens (online/in store) and Target (in store). They're also available for $2.50 at Cherry Culture.

Wet n Wild Morbid

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday! Mine is going a little less great than I would want. Tore the cuticle on my middle finger on my left hand (my picture hand). So tomorrow's post will be of rightie.

Wet n Wild Morbid is a very dark teal (almost black) with teal shimmer. The application is good and opaque in two coats.

Morbid is part of Wet n Wild's Craze line, which has been discontinued. As with any discontinued line or collection, there was usually bottles to be found online. If you're lucky, you might be able to purchase them in a set from a store that still has some in stock. I got mine in a set of six for four dollars at Dollar General during Christmas time.

Ulta Envy with Holo Stars

I hope you are enjoying your Thursday! Today, I have a manicure to show you that I did last week.

I love this combination! Ulta Envy is a dark emerald green shimmer. The application is great and opaque in two coats. To top this color off, I placed on Essence Nail Art Tattoos in All About Me. The set comes with holo stars and butterflies. They are super easy to apply and lay completely flat. The holo gives them a 3D effect.

Ulta Nail Lacquer retails for $6 at Ulta.

Green and Black Scroll

I hope you're enjoying your Wednesday! I am a little obsessed with my new Bundle Monster plates, so I did another mani with them.

I used Ulta Beach Bum as my base. It is a light green matte creme. The application was okay and took three coats to be smooth and opaque. For my stamping, I used Sinful Colors Black on Black and plate BM-314.

BM stamping plates are part of a 25 piece set (the 2012 one) that retails for $22 on Bundle Monster or their Amazon store. Beach Bum is part of a mini set Ulta put out last Summer, Toe-tally Matte.

Owls

I hope you are enjoying your Tuesday! Today, I have my first design using the new Bundle Monster set. You have no idea how much I have been wanting a stamping plate with owls. If I can get my hands on a cute penguin plate, my life will be complete.

How cute is this?! For my base, I used three thin coats of Essie Turquoise & Caicos. Then I stamped on my owls with China Glaze Mahogany Magic and plate BM-309. Both owl designs are on there. You can clearly see the single owl. The full nail design is two different owls and flowers. The full designs are large. Big enough to cover my thumb and more.

BM stamping plates are part of a 25 piece set (the 2012 one) that retails for $22 on Bundle Monster or their Amazon storeTurquoise & Caicos is part of the Essie Resort Collection and retails for $8 at Walgreens, Walmart, Target, Ulta, and several other stores. Mahogany Magic is part of the China Glaze Capitol Colours Collection and retails for $5-7 at various stores and websites (including Sally's Beauty Supply, Ulta, Head2Toe Beauty, and Amazon. It is (or should be) on clearance at most stores.

Essie Turquoise & Caicos

I hope you are enjoying your Monday! Today I have a polish to show you that has been sitting as an untried for way too long. I've had it since October.

Essie Turquoise & Caicos is a pale turquoise creme, a perfect blend of green and blue. The application is great. It goes on smooth. It is a tad sheer, so I used three thin coats for opacity. Gorgeous; it screams tropics  and summer. I've been wearing it as my pedi color for about a week.

Stay tuned for a stamping post tomorrow featuring this polish and a design from the new Bundle Monster stamping plates. I received them in the mail today. :)

Turquoise & Caicos is part of the Essie Resort Collection and retails for $8 at Walgreens, Walmart, Target, Ulta, and several other stores.

Halloween in July

Its Stamping Sunday! This week's theme is "Something I Love." I debated for a little while over what to do. If I had a penguin plate, you would be seeing penguins this week. And my owl plates are in the mail. I looked through my plates and the moment I saw the Halloween themed one, I knew I wanted to do that. It is one of my favorite holidays.

I started with two coats of Love My Nails Raspberry Sorbet, a maroon creme. I created a Halloween accent on each of my ring fingers. A spiderweb with Color Club Worth the Risque and plate BM13; then a spider with Sinful Colors Black on Black and plate BM13. Using a holo for the web causes it to catch the light in a way similar to actual spiderweb.

I love this design and will absolutely be recreating this in October when Halloween is closer to occurring.

Worth the Risque is from the Color Club Femme Fatale Collection. It retails for $4-8. I purchased mine on ebay from this seller. I've also heard of it being seen at Bed Bath & Beyond. Love My Nails retail for $1 at Bari Cosmetics. BM stamping plates are part of a 21 piece set that retails for $18 on Bundle Monster or their Amazon storeSinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens (online/in store) and Target (in store). Catrice Iron Mermaiden

I hope you are enjoying your Friday!

Catrice Iron Mermaiden is a duochrome polish, mainly shifting between silver, purple, and green. In person, it is mostly a silvery purple. Visible brushstrokes are unavoidable, but they are more subtle than some. Please ignore the bubbles. I did a layer of gelous to help make this last through working truck. Gelous bubbles on me occasionally. This is three thin coats to make it opaque.

I wish this had not bubbled. I think I would have enjoyed it more.

Catrice is not sold here in the United States, so I'm unsure what the retail price is. You can find stores that sell them from their website.

Happy Independence Day!

I hope you are enjoying your Wednesday! And your Fourth of July, if you're in the US. Today, I have a final design to share with you for the holiday.

I had a man compliment me on my patriotic nails today. That rarely happens. Almost never. On my pinky, index, and thumb, I did two coats of Wet n Wild Red Red then stripes with L.A. Colors Art Deco White. For my middle and ring fingers, I used one coat of Pure Ice Super Star! then stamped on stars with Color Club Cold Metal and plate BM20. To add a little extra something, I placed silver star glitter in the middle of each large stamped star.

Wet n Wild retail for $1-2 at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Ulta, and many other stores, all of which are listed on their websiteCold Metal is part of the Color Club Foiled Collection. It retails for $4-8. I purchased mine in a collection set of all six for $8 at Ross. BM stamping plates are part of a 21 piece set that retails for $18 on Bundle Monster or their Amazon store. Pure Ice retails for $2 at Walmart and Bari Cosmetics. L.A. Colors Art Deco stripers retail for around $1 and can be found at most Dollar stores.

Stars and Stripes

I hope you are enjoying your Tuesday! Today, I have a design for Monkey See Monkey Do and Fourth of July. I found inspiration in a design by Girlie Tomboy.

I absolutely love this! I got several compliments at work today. My index and pinky are two coats of Love My Nails New Love and my ring and thumb are two coats of Color Club Cold Metal. For my middle finger, I did one coat of Pure Ice Super Star!, stamped on stripes with New Love and plate BM20, and finally stamped on a star with Cold Metal and plate BM05.

Love My Nails retail for $1 at Bari CosmeticsCold Metal is part of the Color Club Foiled Collection. It retails for $4-8. I purchased mine in a collection set of all six for $8 at Ross. Patriotic Stamping and Glitter

Its Stamping Sunday! And my first design for the Fourth of July. I'll admit, its a little bit of a fail, but not too bad. The theme for this week is dots and circles.

The stamping didn't transfer perfectly and smeared a little. Plus my glitter didn't disperse well. But unless you look up close (or with these macro shots), the design looks nice, so its not all bad. I started with a base coat of Pure Ice Super Star! as my white backdrop. Next I stamped on Sinful Colors Sugar Sugar and Color Club Cold Metal with plate BM19. For my accent nail, I used two coats of Love My Nails Glory. Its a slightly blue tinted base with red and blue string glitter plus silver stars. I love how unique it is, but wish it was less bumpy. Two coats of tc later and still bumpy. But its perfect for the upcoming holiday.

Love My Nails retail for $1 at Bari CosmeticsCold Metal is part of the Color Club Foiled Collection. It retails for $4-8. I purchased mine in a collection set of all six for $8 at Ross.
