Ulta Devious with Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter Accent

I hope you are enjoying your Wednesday! I have yet another Ulta brand polish to share with you today.

Ulta Devious is a dark eggplant purple creme. It goes on smooth and creamy like butter, opaque in two coats. I used Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter as an accent over Devious. Pinky Glitter is a light pink jelly filled with holo glitter and shimmer. The glitter really pops over a dark shade.

Ulta polishes retail for $6 at Ulta, in store and online. They frequently go on sale for as inexpensive as $2. Sinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens, Walmart, Target, and various other stores (a complete list on their website.)

Sinful Colors Mint Apple with Hearts

I hope you are enjoying your Tuesday! I planned to post my first Butter London polish today, but when I looked at the pictures, each was slightly blurry. So I will do a quick swatch of it soon. As Plan B, today you will see a shimmer glitter combination.

Sinful Colors Mint Apple is a mint green leaning more toward green than blue with small silver shimmer that flashes gold. The application is good and opaque in two coats. Its relatively shiny even without topcoat (you can see that in the first picture). I wanted to add something fun, so I got out Love & Beauty Pink Hearts Glitter. It is a clear base filled with pink heart glitter and a bit of micro iridescent glitter. The hearts are a little hard to fish out, but not impossible.

Sinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens (online/in store) and Target (in store). They're also available for $2.50 at Cherry Culture. Love & Beauty retails for $2.80 at Forever21, online and in store.

Crashing Waves

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday! I gave my blog layout a bit of a revamping yesterday. Among the changes are a new banner (not sure if I like it yet or not), wider layout for bigger pictures, and a drop down menu for my tags. Please let me know what you think. :)

Do you ever attempt a nail design only to end up with a mess? Its a very sad and frustrating occurrence. But sometimes that mess has redeeming qualities. My manicure started off well last night. But it quickly went downhill. My thumb was a disaster and my index finger was just as bad. I was beginning to grow fond of the light blue I already had on, so I decided to keep it and add something extra.

Kind of abstract, but it reminds me of waves crashing against rocks. How the water remains deep blue while the upward spray is very light almost white. Maybe its just me.

I sponged on two different blues for this effect. Cosmetic Arts Sky High and Sinful Colors Midnight Blue. So, what do you think. Crashing waves, something else, or just completely abstract?

Cosmetic Arts retails for $2 at Ross. Sinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens (online/in store) and Target (in store). They're also available for $2.50 at Cherry Culture.

Blue Milk Mushrooms

Its Stamping Sunday! I have not done this challenge in a long time. Which makes me sad. So I'm making an effort to start again. This week's theme is 'Poisonous and Toxic." It took me a long time to decide on a design. Spiders, snakes, and bats are all venomous not poisonous (if they are deadly at all). I finally found something poisonous that I had a stamp for. YAY!

Lactarius indigo, also known as the blue milk mushroom, ranges from light blue to dark blue. They can be poisonous. They are very pretty if you see pictures.

To create those lovely fungi on my accent nail, I started with two coats of Pure Ice Wild Thing. Then I sponged on Ulta The Jungle Look and Sinful Colors Black on Black. Finally I added my blue mushroom with BM-302 and Sally Hansen Pacific Blue. The rest of my nails are two coats of Pacific Blue.

BM stamping plates are part of a 25 piece set (the 2012 one) that retails for $22 on Bundle Monster or their Amazon store. Pure Ice retails for $2 at Walmart and Bari CosmeticsUlta Nail Lacquer retails for $6 at Ulta. Sinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens (online/in store) and Target (in store). They're also available for $2.50 at Cherry Culture. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear retails for $2-3 at Walgreens, Walmart, Riteaid, Target, and Ulta.

Sapphire

Its Stamping Sunday! I'm late on getting my post up, but its still Sunday here. This week's theme is precious stones.

Say hello to rightie! This is the only non blurry picture I could take of my right hand. My left hand would make an odd swatch photo. I hurt my middle finger, so there would be a giant bandage in the middle of the picture.

I chose sapphire as my precious stone and did a similar polish color plus stamping. For my ring finger, I did two coats of Wet n Wild Silvivor then stamped on sapphires using Sinful Colors Midnight Blue and plate BM09. For the rest of my fingers, I used two coats of Midnight Blue.

Wet n Wild retail for $1-2 at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Ulta, and many other stores, all of which are listed on their websiteBM stamping plates are part of a 21 piece set that retails for $18 on Bundle Monster or their Amazon store. Sinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens (online/in store) and Target (in store). They're also available for $2.50 at Cherry Culture.

Green and Black Scroll

I hope you're enjoying your Wednesday! I am a little obsessed with my new Bundle Monster plates, so I did another mani with them.

I used Ulta Beach Bum as my base. It is a light green matte creme. The application was okay and took three coats to be smooth and opaque. For my stamping, I used Sinful Colors Black on Black and plate BM-314.

BM stamping plates are part of a 25 piece set (the 2012 one) that retails for $22 on Bundle Monster or their Amazon store. Beach Bum is part of a mini set Ulta put out last Summer, Toe-tally Matte.

Halloween in July

Its Stamping Sunday! This week's theme is "Something I Love." I debated for a little while over what to do. If I had a penguin plate, you would be seeing penguins this week. And my owl plates are in the mail. I looked through my plates and the moment I saw the Halloween themed one, I knew I wanted to do that. It is one of my favorite holidays.

I started with two coats of Love My Nails Raspberry Sorbet, a maroon creme. I created a Halloween accent on each of my ring fingers. A spiderweb with Color Club Worth the Risque and plate BM13; then a spider with Sinful Colors Black on Black and plate BM13. Using a holo for the web causes it to catch the light in a way similar to actual spiderweb.

I love this design and will absolutely be recreating this in October when Halloween is closer to occurring.

Worth the Risque is from the Color Club Femme Fatale Collection. It retails for $4-8. I purchased mine on ebay from this seller. I've also heard of it being seen at Bed Bath & Beyond. Love My Nails retail for $1 at Bari Cosmetics. BM stamping plates are part of a 21 piece set that retails for $18 on Bundle Monster or their Amazon storeSinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens (online/in store) and Target (in store). They're also available for $2.50 at Cherry Culture

Patriotic Stamping and Glitter

Its Stamping Sunday! And my first design for the Fourth of July. I'll admit, its a little bit of a fail, but not too bad. The theme for this week is dots and circles.

The stamping didn't transfer perfectly and smeared a little. Plus my glitter didn't disperse well. But unless you look up close (or with these macro shots), the design looks nice, so its not all bad. I started with a base coat of Pure Ice Super Star! as my white backdrop. Next I stamped on Sinful Colors Sugar Sugar and Color Club Cold Metal with plate BM19. For my accent nail, I used two coats of Love My Nails Glory. Its a slightly blue tinted base with red and blue string glitter plus silver stars. I love how unique it is, but wish it was less bumpy. Two coats of tc later and still bumpy. But its perfect for the upcoming holiday.

Love My Nails retail for $1 at Bari CosmeticsCold Metal is part of the Color Club Foiled Collection. It retails for $4-8. I purchased mine in a collection set of all six for $8 at Ross. Sinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens (online/in store) and Target (in store). They're also available for $2.50 at Cherry Culture. BM stamping plates are part of a 21 piece set that retails for $18 on Bundle Monster or their Amazon store. Pure Ice retails for $2 at Walmart and Bari Cosmetics

Hello Kitty

Every week on Polish-aholics Anonymous, we do a nail art challenge with a different theme. This week was dedicated to Stephie Dauphinais. She suddenly passed away last week. In remembrance of her, we wanted to do our nails in designs and colors she liked.

I did Hello Kitty. I've never been a big fan of it, but it seemed like a cute idea since Stephie was big on Hello Kitty. I took inspiration from this cute design. I used Wet n Wild Tickled Pink as my base. Then I stamped on a full nail design with Wet n Wild Lavender Creme and plate BM21. For my Hello Kitty image, I used Sinful Colors Black on Black and plate m71. As an accent, I placed a hot pink rhinestone in the middle of her bow on my ring fingers.

Wet n Wild retail for $1-2 at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Ulta, and many other stores, all of which are listed on their website. Sinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens (online/in store) and Target (in store). They're also available for $2.50 at Cherry Culture. BM stamping plates are part of a 21 piece set that retails for $18 on Bundle Monster or their Amazon store. Plate m71 retails for $2.99 on Born Pretty.

Born Pretty has been running a promotion for a long time that offers a free Hello Kitty stamping plate to ten people per day. You do not even have to place an order for anything else. The plate can be found here, along with instructions on how to receive it for free.

True Blood Sunday!

ITS TRUE BLOOD SUNDAY!! I love the show. Definitely one of my favorite shows. So of course I had to do a mani for the season five premiere, which is tonight.

I did all of my nails in a splatter mani. I had intended to write True Blood on my thumb, but it was not working out well, so splatter for all. I did one coat of Sinful Colors Black on Black then splattered on Love My Nails New Love with a straw. Looks like blood splatters.

If you have never done splatter with a straw, let me warn you. I haven't done one in almost a year, so I forgot how frustrating cleanup is. I wish I had taped off my skin. To help you understand what I mean, I took pictures.

The first picture is before any cleanup. Its everywhere. Including the underside of my fingers from touching wet polish. The second picture is after my first cleanup attempt. It took another round of cleanup on the skin, plus some around my nails this morning to get the pictures you see up top. So ladies, please, remember to tape off.

Sinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens (online/in store) and Target (in store). They're also available for $2.50 at Cherry Culture. Love My Nails retail for $1 at Bari Cosmetics.

Gold Over Blue

I hope you're enjoying your Tuesday! I have another manicure to show you for Monkey See, Monkey Do. Its a nail challenge where we take inspiration from or recreate a mani done by someone else. Anything you see on blogs, Facebook, Pinterest, or anywhere else online.

This design was inspired by a mani done by The Nailasaurus. For my base, I used two coats of Sinful Colors Savage. It is a matte creme with wonderful application. Mattes are usually harder to work with. Next, I stamped on a floral vine design with Color Club Gingerbread Man and plate BM20. In person, the design is very crisp, which did not exactly translate to pictures.

Sinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens (online/in store) and Target (in store). They're also available for $2.50 at Cherry CultureGingerbread Man is part of the Color Club Scent-suous Collection and retails for $4. BM stamping plates are part of a 21 piece set that retails for $18 on Bundle Monster or their Amazon store.

Please check out the other lovely bloggers participating in this challenge. :)

Floral

I hope you're enjoying your Monday! Another Monday Nail Art Challenge is here. This week is Floral. I wish this had turned out better.

I was inspired by this post on the Nail Nerd. I used e.l.f. Fire Coral as a background for my flowers. The rest of the polishes I used were Sinful Colors Black on Black (outline), Love My Nails Orange Blossom, Ulta Peach Parfait (petals), China Glaze Mahogany Magic, and Julep Olivia (flower center).

Neon Rainbow Zebra Print

Its Stamping Sunday! This week's theme is Unnatural Animals. So I broke out the neon and bright polishes for rainbow zebra print.

In order from index to pinky, I used Color Club Poptastic, Zoya Pippa, Sinful Colors Dream On, and Cosmetic Arts Limelight. All two coats each. Then I stamped a zebra print pattern on each nail using Sally Hansen Night Flight and plate BM16.

Poptastic is part of the Color Club Poptastic Collection. It retails for $4-8 various places online. Zoya retails for $8 on their website. Sinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens (online/in store) and Target (in store). They're also available for $2.50 at Cherry Culture. Cosmetic Arts retail for $2 at Ross (I'm unsure where else they are sold, if anywhere else). BM stamping plates are part of a 21 piece set that retails for $18 on Bundle Monster or their Amazon store.

For the Love of Train

Its Stamping Sunday! Yes, it is that time of the week again. :) The theme is Inspired by Music. It could be our favorite artist, album, artist/band, et cetera. I chose to do a song by Train. Given I have a limited amount of stamp images, I listened to my favorite Train songs to see which one I could do.

Not perfect considering my limited collection, but it was fun to do. I was inspired by Save Me San Francisco by Train. I based each nail on a different piece of the lyrics as the story goes along. Index: "We took the highway to the One, up the coast to catch some sun." I did a base coat of Cosmetic Arts Sky High with Sinful Colors Snow Me White clouds. Then I stamped a sun with Konad Yellow and plate BM01. Middle: "I drove into Seattle rain, fell in love then missed the train." I did the same base as my index finger, then stamped on the Seattle Space Needle with Sally Hansen Night Flight and plate BM15. Ring: "If I could wish upon a star." I did a base coat of Sinful Colors Black on Black with Midnight Blue sponged on and a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust. Next I stamped on stars with Wet n Wild Silvivor and plate BM21. At the time, I had misplaced the plate with a single star, so I used my full nail design and just stamped one of the stars. Finally, Pinky: "But there's a wide-eyed girl back there, and she means everything... everything." I used  Look by Bipa Metallic Matt as my base before I stamped on Love with Love My Nails New Love and plate BM09.

Wet n Wild retail for $1-2 at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Ulta, and many other stores, all of which are listed on their websiteCosmetic Arts retail for $2 at Ross (I'm unsure where else they are sold, if anywhere else). Sinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens (online/in store) and Target (in store). They're also available for $2.50 at Cherry CultureKonad Special Polish (for stamping) retails for $6.80 on their website. Sally Hansen Insta-Dri retails for $3-5 at Walgreens, Walmart, Riteaid, Target, and Ulta. China Glaze retails for $5-10 a bottle at Sally Beauty Supply, Ulta, and various other stores/sites. Love My Nails retail for $1 at Bari Cosmetics.

Sinful Colors Cinderella

I hope you are enjoying your Wednesday! I have a very pretty polish to show you today. I'm a little late to the game with Sinful Colors Cinderella, but one can never have enough swatches of such a nice polish.

Cinderella is a gorgeous light blue creme with pink glass flecks. The application was good and opaque in three thin coats. Its absolutely lovely in person. I love the combination of pink and blue.

Sinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens (online/in store) and Target (in store). They're also available for $2.50 at Cherry Culture. Cinderella was made part of their core line, so if you do not have them at your local store yet, they will show up.
