Color Club Boho Mojo

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday! Today I have an interesting polish from the Color Club Back to Boho Collection to show you.

Boho Mojo is dusty silver pearl with a hint of beige. Little more silver in person. As with all pearls, it does have visible brush strokes, but nothing too bad. The application is good and opaque in three thin coats. Not exactly my favorite color, but a unique polish in my collection.

The Color Club Back to Boho Collection polishes retail for $4-8 individually. Sets of seven (topcoat included) retail for $8 in store at Ross and Burlington.

KKCenterHK Stamping Plate Review

I hope you are enjoying your Friday! Today I have another review of a KKCenterHK stamping plate for you. This is the second plate I own from them. They have a large variety of plates to choose from, over two hundred.

All of the images stamped well. I know it doesn't look perfect on some, but stamping on paper is different than onto my nails. Aren't these images cute? Mostly Halloween related. I love Halloween! There is a cat, skull and sword, spider, raven, bats and moon, sheep, paw prints, and two swirl designs. I love them! I will have a design in a few days with one of these images. :)

N.Nail Stamping Plates retail for $5.05 on KCenterHK. They also carry large stamping plates for $15.97. This particular plate is item number SPPMM80.

Maggie from KKCenterHK was nice enough to give me a unique coupon code for all of you. Just enter coupon code followtheyellowpolishroad to get 10% off through January 31, 2013.

Essence Choose Me!

I hope you're enjoying your Thursday! Its almost Friday! I have a very pretty polish to show you today.

Essence Choose Me! is a dark aqua with teal green glass flecks. The flecks shift from teal to a gold tinted green depending on the angle and lighting. It reminds me of a mermaid. Gorgeous and opaque in two coats. If this polish looks familiar, it is a dupe for Zoya Charla and Orly Halley's Comet. I own Charla and personally am happy to own both. They are both so pretty that an extra bottle is a good thing.

Essence Colour & Go retails for $1 at Ulta, H-E-B, and FredMeyer.

Comparison - Color Club Candy Cane vs Wet n Wild Sparked

Battle of the pink glitters! While looking at my nail wheel one day, I noticed that two of my pink glitters looked very close. Possible dupes. So I did a little comparison.

Each picture is index/ring with Color Club Candy Cane and middle/pinky with Wet n Wild Sparked.

One coat each

Two coats each

Two coats each with a coat of Wet n Wild Hallucinate over Sparked
As you can see Candy Cane covers much more opaque than Sparked, even after the first coat. With a second coat, Sparked is more opaque, but still not equal. In the bottle, the only difference appears to be the lack of holo glitter in Sparked. On the nail, you can see that are very close. To really see the potential, I layered one coat of Hallucinate over Sparked.

After taking a good look at each nail, I would have to say that they are very very close, but not dupes, even with holo glitter added. Candy Cane is slightly more hot pink than the Sparked/Hallucinate combo. Different enough to justice owning both, but close enough that it would make a good substitution.

Hello Kitty

Every week on Polish-aholics Anonymous, we do a nail art challenge with a different theme. This week was dedicated to Stephie Dauphinais. She suddenly passed away last week. In remembrance of her, we wanted to do our nails in designs and colors she liked.

I did Hello Kitty. I've never been a big fan of it, but it seemed like a cute idea since Stephie was big on Hello Kitty. I took inspiration from this cute design. I used Wet n Wild Tickled Pink as my base. Then I stamped on a full nail design with Wet n Wild Lavender Creme and plate BM21. For my Hello Kitty image, I used Sinful Colors Black on Black and plate m71. As an accent, I placed a hot pink rhinestone in the middle of her bow on my ring fingers.

Wet n Wild retail for $1-2 at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Ulta, and many other stores, all of which are listed on their website. Sinful Colors retail for $2 at Walgreens (online/in store) and Target (in store). They're also available for $2.50 at Cherry Culture. BM stamping plates are part of a 21 piece set that retails for $18 on Bundle Monster or their Amazon store. Plate m71 retails for $2.99 on Born Pretty.

Born Pretty has been running a promotion for a long time that offers a free Hello Kitty stamping plate to ten people per day. You do not even have to place an order for anything else. The plate can be found here, along with instructions on how to receive it for free.
