No H8: Eradicate Hate in the Nail Polish Blogger Community

I hope you are enjoying your Thursday! My post today is about important. Bullying. I am so unbelievably happy to see so many blogger participating in the movement today. This post is not just about bullying in our little nail polish polish community; its about all bullying. Its wrong. Imagine how much better the world would be if people would be kind to one another.

I've been lucky and have not had any bullying result from my blog, aside a stray Pinterest comment. However, I grew up being bullied. It still happens. So raising awareness about bullying and showing support is something I care greatly about.

So today, in support of eradicating bullying, I have a purple manicure to share.

For my manicure, I chose Sally Hansen Lustrous and Essence It's Purplicious. I used one coat of the former then two coats of the glitter.

"Bullying is not funny. It is not cool. It is not right. And more importantly, it is not okay.

Most of us are, thankfully, residents of countries that support tolerance and many of our families have settled in these places simply for that reason. Generations later, it is our responsibility to perpetuate that message of tolerance across our new social platforms, including the internet.

As members of the nail polish blogging community, we all share a love of beauty, color, and lacquer. Other than that, we are remarkably different: from our race to our religion to our hair color...even to our polish application techniques. To marginalize anyone because of those differences is completely unacceptable and today I take a stand against that. I refuse to allow other people's view of "normal" dictate how I behave, believe, and blog.

In solidarity with a multitude of bloggers linked below, my purple manicure represents my proud commitment to the No H8 movement. Today, November 8, I dedicate my post to ending bullying of any kind and to encouraging diversity and imperfection among our colorful community."

Color Club Nouveau Vintage

I hope you are enjoying your Monday! Today I have a gorgeous Fall polish to show you.

Color Club Nouveau Vintage is a red-toned brown with gold/copper and green shimmer. The green is much more noticeable in the bottle than it is on the nail. The application is perfection and opaque in two coats. I honestly did not think I would like it when I bought the Back to Boho set. That's why its taken me over a year to wear it. Despite what I thought initially, I love this polish!

Maybelline Magenta Mirage over Essence Grey-t To Be Here

I hope you are enjoying your Sunday! I have a nice combination to show you today. Hopefully you are not over crackle.

Maybelline Magenta Mirage is a bright magenta shimmer crackle with a bit of a blue flash. The crackle effect is not very strong. I tried thick and thin coats. It still is a pretty polish though. I layered it over Essence Grey-t To Be Here, light gray creme with pink shimmer that shifts to rose gold at the right angle.

Jessica Life of the Party

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday! I have a fun polish in a fun shape to share with you today.

Jessica Life of the Party is a purple jelly filled with small round holo glitter. The application is great, especially considering its a jelly full of glitter. Three coats gave it the opacity seen there. I plan to try it with a similar base color next time. Though I do love the jelly finish. And I absolutely love this polish. Its fun and colorful. The bottle is cute as well! Shaped like a light bulb.

China Glaze Instant Chemistry

I hope you are enjoying your Friday!

China Glaze Instant Chemistry is a dark burgundy purple magnetic polish with a hint of shimmer. The magnetic quality in this polish is not as strong as the other I own from this collection. I tried a few different magnets. Perhaps its the dark color that leaves it lacking or maybe I got a bad bottle. Even with the iffy magnetic effect, the polish is gorgeous. I would happily wear it without using a magnet.

The application is great and opaque in one coat, though I used two because I've found its easier for magnetic polishes.
