Rainbow Favorites Day 7 - Pink

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday! Today is the last day of the rainbow challenge. And today's color happens to be my favorite polish color. So picking just one pink polish was hard. I couldn't pick just one, so I chose three.

China Glaze Sangria, Claire's Candy Shop, and Love My Nails Palest Mauve. Sangria is a hot pink shimmer. Nothing especially unique, but oh so pretty. Candy Shop is a pink jelly packed with multicolored and multi-shaped hex glitter. I promise it lays and appears much more flat than in the photo. For some reason, the glitter looks bumpy here. But if you look at my previous post with this polish, it looks perfectly smooth. Palest Mauve is a pale mauve pink creme, just as the name implies. Its a tad more mauve in reality and has been a favorite pink of mine for a long time. I even went as far as to grab a back up bottle of it. The application on all of these polishes is great. They all require two coats for opacity, though I added a third of Candy Shop for more glitter.

Claire's retails for $5 in store. China Glaze retails for $5-8 a bottle at Sally Beauty Supply, Ulta, and various other stores/sites. Love My Nails retail for $1 at Bari Cosmetics.

Doing this challenge has been so much fun. I hope everyone has enjoyed seeing my favorite colors. I know I have enjoyed seeing what other bloggers chose.

Rainbow Favorites Day 6 - Purple

I hope you're enjoying your Friday! Today's color for the rainbow challenge is purple. I honestly thought I would have a large amount of trouble picking one. Especially considering I have over seventy purples. But I found myself underwhelmed while looking at my purple nail wheels. Maybe I was having a blah day because I love purple. I only found two that I wanted to consider as a favorite. Catrice Dirty Berry and Zoya Nova. I love the former, but I had not tried the latter and wanted to see it on my nails.

Zoya Nova is a fuchsia purple jelly with dark and light pink glitter. The application is great. I used two coats. From browsing other blogs, it seems most used three coats and got a very opaque glitter packed appearance. I guess I'm digging the jellies lately because I was happy with two coats. In person, I have no visible nail line.

I wouldn't say this is my favorite purple ever, but it is certainly my favorite this week. :)

Rainbow Favorites Day 5 - Blue

I hope you're enjoying your Thursday! Today's post for the rainbow challenge is blue. My absolute favorite blue is the combo of Essence Belle and Edward. But I've posted those polishes twice, so I decided to give other blues a chance. I narrowed it down to three. Zoya Charla, Bootie Babe Hella Baloo, and Sally Hansen Pacific Blue. Still couldn't pick just one, so I chose two.

I picked Bootie Babe Hella Baloo and Zoya Charla as my favorites. Hella Baloo is a medium blue creme. The application is great and opaque in one coat. Nothing better than a one coat polish. Zoya Charla a dark aqua with teal green glass flecks. The application is great and opaque in two coats.

Choosing favorites has been hard. And I can tell you that if you asked me my favorites a month from now, they would probably be different.

Hella Baloo retails for $4 (for 9mL) and $12 (for 30mL) on Bootie Babe. According to their Facebook page, the 1oz/30mL bottles are pre-order and will be available in September. Charla (Sunshine Collection) retails for $8 at Zoya

Rainbow Favorites Day 4 - Green

I hope you're enjoying your Wednesday! I have my fourth day of the rainbow challenge to show you today. It gets harder to pick each day. I have over about forty greens. Hard to pick. I went back and forth between three. Zoya Apple, China Glaze He's Going in Circles, and Color Club Holiday Splendor. I could not resist the holo.

China Glaze He's Going in Circles is a light green linear holo. The application is good, especially for a holo. It took two coats to be opaque.

It retails for $10-20 depending on where you purchase it from. He's Going in Circles is part of the China Glaze Kaleidoscope Collection. Being a silver cap holo is what affects the price.

Rainbow Favorites Day 3 - Yellow

I hope you're enjoying your Tuesday! I have another part of the rainbow challenge to share with you. Just like the last two days, I debated over two polishes before I chose one. Its hard to pick just one.

Finger Paints Psychedelic Sunshine is a yellow jelly packed full of holo micro glitter. Its rather sheer, even for a jelly. Normally I would use a matching base coat, but decided to just wear it alone this time. If you want to see what it looks like with a yellow base coat, you can check out my original post here. The application is good, once thinned a little. What you see above is two coats.

Psychedelic Sunshine is from Finger Paints Summer 2011 Peace, Love and Color Collection. It is not available at Sally Beauty Supply anymore, so if you love yellow and are lucky enough to see a bottle, snag this beauty.

Rainbow Favorites Day 2 - Orange

I hope you're enjoying your Monday! I have another part of the rainbow challenge to share with you. Today is orange. Just like yesterday, I debated over two polishes before I chose one.

Wet n Wild Creepy Pumpkin is an orange jelly with shimmer. I love this orange! I initially grabbed it because of the bottle shape and ended up completely in love. But seriously, how cute is this bottle. If you have never seen them, its a rectangular bottle with a tombstone as the cap. The application is great. Its rather sheer, as one can expect from a jelly. Two coats to reach this amount of coverage.

Creepy Pumpkin was part of the Fantasy Makers Collection from Halloween 2011. At the time, it retailed for $2. Its very scarce online. I am hoping that they will bring it back this year.

Rainbow Favorites Day 1 - Red

I hope you're enjoying your Sunday! Its almost over here. I'm late getting my post up. Several bloggers are participating in a rainbow challenge. Each day of this week, we pick our favorite polish of a certain color. Bec from Lacquer Dreams came up with this lovely idea.

Just picking one polish was hard. It came down to two. Essence Once Upon a Time and Wet n Wild Red Red. Both are so pretty. I finally decided to go with the classic red creme. Red Red is a lovely red creme with a slight hint of pink. Very classic.

Wet n Wild retail for $1-2 at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Ulta, and many other stores, all of which are listed on their website

Essence A Lovely Secret

I hope you're enjoying your Saturday! Today I have a gorgeous color to show you that I've been dying to own for awhile. How satisfying is it to finally find something you've been wanting.

Essence A Lovely Secret is a lavender creme with subtle purple shimmer that flashes bright purple. It is hard to describe in one sentence. At first glance, it appears to be a light purple creme. Then you see it almost looks marbled, rather than filled with shimmer. The purple is matte and does not shimmer. Instead it adds amazing depth. Its not really visible in the picture until you click on it. The larger version gives you an idea of what I mean. On top of this unique depth, when the light hits this polish, the purple suddenly flashes bright and shimmering. Its very visible in the bottle and harder to capture on the nail.

The application is great, as I've come to expect from Essence. This is two coats and completely opaque.

Essence Colour & Go retails for $1 at Ulta, H-E-B, and FredMeyer.

OPI Houston We Have a Purple with Kleancolor Chunky Holo Purple

I hope you are enjoying your Friday! Today I have a very pretty jelly to share with you.

OPI Houston We Have a Purple is a deep magenta jelly, or as they've been deemed, sorbet. As with most jellies, there is a bit of visible nail line, but not as much as it appears in the picture. In person, its practically opaque. I used two coats for most fingers and an extra third for two fingers. On my thumb and ring finger, I used Kleancolor Chunky Holo Purple as an accent. Not quite holo, at least in my opinion. It flashes red, orange, yellow, and green. Regardless, its gorgeous. The application on both of these is great.

OPI retails for $8.50 at Ulta and Target, also various places online. Kleancolor Chunky Holos retail for $2-4 various places online.

New Essence Haul

I have some fun new things to show you today. Ulta is getting some new products from Essence. I am unsure when they will hit the shelves. I imagine within the next week or so. I work there, so while stocking this morning, I discovered them and could not contain my excitement. I was lucky enough to get to purchase them today. :)

None of these are completely brand new. Essence usually puts things out in Europe before they make it across the pond into our stores. The Colour & Go polishes I purchased are re-releases, which I happen to love. There is nothing better than bringing back something you thought was gone forever. The rest of the beauties hitting Ulta seem to be goodies that Europe got last Spring. I saw magnetic polishes, limited edition polishes, nail art tattoos, eyeliner, and few other things.

I grabbed up three Colour & Go polishes and the two sets of nail tattoos. I will probably get more later, but these were my must haves. Onto the pictures!

Absolutely Stylish, Enchanted Fairy, & A Lovely Secret

All About Me & Friends Forever

I love Colour & Go polishes! I normally avoid minis because I feel I don't get very many manis out of them, but that's not the case with these. And you cannot beat the one dollar price tag. Absolutely Stylish is a brown creme with what looks like pink, blue, and green micro flakies. Enchanted Fairy is a dusty light pink with subtle shimmer. A Lovely Secret is a lavender creme with purple shimmer. My descriptions might be off a little. Appearance in the bottle can vary from on the nail.

The nail art tattoos look adorable. Holographic butterflies/stars and spring flowers. The reviews for these look great. I cannot wait to try them.

Is anyone else is excited about these as I am? A Lovely Secret was on my wishlist and I am so happy to be able to take it off.

Update (6/24): Apparently Ulta is getting these just to go straight to clearance. Very odd. The prices are great, but this means the stock will be small. I'm rather disappointed. There are still new Colour & Go polishes though.

China Glaze Sun Worshiper

I hope you're enjoying your Thursday! Today I have an incredibly neon polish to show you today.

Looks like two completely different polishes, I know. China Glaze Sun Worshiper is an orange tinted cantaloupe neon. The neon finish was incredibly hard to capture. The second picture is the best I could do. And its after a day of work. Trust me, this polish is eye catching. My brother did a double take at my hands and exclaimed, "Damn that's bright!"

This is one coat of white and two thin coats of Sun Worshiper. Most neons really pop if layered over white. Plus they reach opacity quicker.

China Glaze retails for $5-10 a bottle at Sally Beauty Supply, Ulta, and various other stores/sites.

Ulta Material Girl

I hope you are enjoying your Tuesday! I have a pretty polish from Ulta to show you today.

Ulta Material Girl is a magenta purple jelly with micro holo glitter. The application is good and opaque two coats. I know it appears a little gritty in the photos. I should have added a second layer of top coat.

Ulta Nail Lacquer retails for $6 at Ulta.

Speckled Green & Pink

I hope you are enjoying your Monday! Its Monkey See, Monkey Do time again. Basically you take inspiration from or recreate a mani done by someone else.

I took inspiration from this post by Jen of The Exotic Lacquer. Mine are a bit different. I used Julep Cameron and Cosmetic Arts Limelight as my base colors. Both two coats each. Then I did one coat of Love & Beauty Black Knight. I love this look.

Cosmetic Arts retail for $2 at Ross (I'm unsure where else they are sold, if anywhere else). Julep retails for $14 at Julep and Sephora. Love & Beauty retails for $2.80 at Forever21, online and in store.

Please check out the other lovely bloggers participating in this challenge. :)

Sunshine and Blue Flowers

Its Stamping Sunday! Very late on Sunday, but not Monday yet. The theme is "something with glitter."

What is better than bright yellow glitter and blue flowers? I started off with two coats of China Glaze Sunshine. Its a canary yellow jelly with small and micro holo glitter. Then I stamped on flowers with Sally Hansen Pacific Blue and plate BM12. It stamps very well.

Sunshine is part of the China Glaze Specialty Collection. It retails for $3-6 at various stores and websites (including Head2Toe Beauty, and AmazonSally Hansen Xtreme Wear retails for $2-3 at Walgreens, Walmart, Riteaid, Target, and Ulta. BM stamping plates are part of a 21 piece set that retails for $18 on Bundle Monster or their Amazon store.
