Lynnderella I Don't Mean Rhinestones

I hope you are enjoying your Friday! Last week, I added a feature to my blog so that you could vote for what polish you wanted to see me swatch. I plan to post them on Fridays. I will do this every week, so please vote. :)

Lynnderella I Don't Mean Rhinestones is a clear base full of holographic turquoise squares, diamonds, and hexes. They are not holographic in the traditional sense. Instead they reflect colors in the blue spectrum  Think yellow, blue, and green. The polish is gorgeous in the bottle and pretty when looking down at my nails. The application was a bit of a pain. I suppose chunky full coverage glitters tend to be. It took three coats to be opaque. Its a very pretty polish, but not really worth the price tag in my opinion. I do plan to try it over a base color to see if it will make me love it.

This is my first Lynnderella. I received it in a surprise grab bag. I have not owned one before because of the drama and difficulty to obtain them. I'm not completely sold on the hype as of now. I plan to have a post next week showing I Don't Mean Rhinestones over a base color. Maybe then I can say I get the hype.

  1. I feel the same way about Lynderealla polish...there was so much drama to get some of the first ones released, I burned out over it all fast...esp for the price tag even then. I guess it was mostly because it was one of the first home-made polishes and it's inception was right before etsy got going (or maybe right about the same time)...but it was insane trying to be 'the' one who got the few bottles of it that were released. And it was glitter. While I admired some of the first glitters I did not feel compelled that I had to have them - I have a ton of glitters and don't wear them that often even with the PVC type of base now that makes getting them off easier. I just don't like not wearing a good healthy base coat. I never have spent the $ for a grab bag - I guess my days of paying for stuff I don't really probably need or want are over after years in book clubs and CD clubs when those were around. This is OK but I would not wear it probably.

    1. There were a couple in the beginning that I really wanted. But they kept selling out so fast. Then moving to Llarowe then the waiting lists. Now ebay. Just not worth the hassle. I did layer it over a dark inky blue and it looks much better.

I usually don't go for the grab bags, too much of a chance of getting something I already own. But this was all indies. So I splurged.
